Listening is very important in dating and in a relationship. Listening to the other person allows you to hear the things that they are not directly telling you. Listening to the other person is important to find out if there are any issues that have to be addressed or to identify any issues on the horizon. When you are truly listening to the other person, if they're smart they know you are listening. When a person knows you are listening that only increases their interest in talking to you. People tend to share more of themselves if they feel comfortable with you. In dating and in a relationship, making your partner comfortable when talking to you is key to successfully listening. When you do this, the results of listening will be truly amazing.

Being transparent about your past personal trauma is the hardest thing to do when you're in a relationship. Sometimes expressing your pain, anger, and anxiety is a scary thing to do. Trying to explain to your partner about what you experienced is the hardest thing to do because they may not understand.
